The wedding in Vietnam
We are so happy to welcome you here and to our wedding on the 28th of April. Below you will find all the details and let us know if there are any questions.
Plan for the day
We will start of the day with the betrothal ceremony at the house of Huyen. The ceremony is often for close family and friends. This is a traditional ceremony where the groom and his family will visit the family of the bride to request her hand once more. The groom will bring gifts when he visits the family of the bride, the gifts are traditionally received by the brides family. Once the gifts have been shared there will be a ceremonial part in the house of the bride where the groom and bride will request permission to marry from their ancestors. This part is mostly private and will not take very long. After the ceremonial part we will continue to the lunch location.
Then it is lunch and party time people from all over Vietnam will visit to enjoy an extensive lunch and then celebrate the newly weds. This part is for all friends and relatives of the family. Often a lunch is organized because this gives people the chance to travel and return home or continue to work in the afternoon.
After the lunch we will say good bye to most of our guests. However our close friends and family are invited to go on a bus ride to travel to Ke Sat. We will arrange for the bus ride to Ke Sat. Ke Sat is a city next to Hanoi where we will have a second party, more specifically a karaoke party so do not forget to bring your voice and a song. 🙂
After the second party it is time to conclude things and to travel back from Hai Duong to Hanoi. In Hanoi you will be dropped of at a location of your choosing.
The exact times will be updated below. This will happen shortly before the wedding. But to give you a timeframe for the whole day, we start at 09:30 and end somewhere in the evening around 22:30 back in Hanoi. The exact locations will be shared before the wedding as well.

Trong Dong palace
The Trong Dong Palace in the Cau Giay District in Hanoi will be one of the main venue’s of the day. Here the lunch and party will take place and lunch will be served.
The home of Huyen
The home of Huyen is also in the Cau Giay District in Hanoi. Here the day will begin with the betrothal ceremony. Gifts will be extended to Huyen’s family and there will be a spiritual ceremony.
Ke Sat
Ke Sat is were the second part of festivities take place. This is the home town of Huyen’s mom. Study on a nice karaoke song to be able to join all the festivities. 🙂
